WILL THERE EVER BE AN END TO THIS MALICIOUS STRIKES!!!

As it has been said before that education is the passport to the future and tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today, I believe that education for us blacks is the only way out of poverty. When strikes occur at universities lecturing is often put on hold making it difficult for both students and lectures to finish syllabus on time. Students are forced to vacant campuses with immediate effect as they could be affected when violence occurs.

This strikes often take longer and by the time classes resume students have too much on their plates, there's a lot of work to be done and exams near the corner. Violent resulting to strikes often leaves the university property squashed and ruined, taking a toll on students well being. Statistics shows that strikes in universities occur every single year and they are going to continue as long as students issues are left unattained.

Universities are a place of tertiary education where students develop their skills and knowledge creating businesses and jobs, enriching society and stimulating culture, strikes therefore leads to collateral damage for students. Measures should be taken to reduce strikes that occur at our universities to reduce the effects that they cause in our education.

  1. Yes Matti, strike has always been the problem and the worst part is that during the strike, the angry individuals tend to destroy infrastructure. The government will keep on working back-and-forward because he is not united with his people.

  2. And I for one would never understand the concept of thinking that violence will solve issues. Matters should be handled and resolved in such a manner that all parties involved will benefit. And strike is not an option!

    1. But if we don't go on strike our management does not see a need to solve our problems for example now most of the 1st year students here at WSU were not allocated into residences and the lectures were taking place without considering those individuals without rooms. So on my opinion the strike is the best way to solve things here at WSU

  3. We need to resolve matters peacefully. Violence only leads to more violence and instead of moving forward we move backwards.

  5. The only language that South Africans understand better is STRIKING, but I think we need to strike peacefully without vandalizing any properties. Strike is the key

  6. What's bad about these strikes is that the infrastructure and beaty of places get damaged.

  7. We live in a society where speech is a total joke.
Wanna be heard?, take action. If its the only way the people sitting on rotating chairs in offices with air conditioners will pay attention to what the lower parties say, I say they go ahead and strike, and damage as much property as they can.

  8. I believe that almost every issue can be resolved without violence, although this one seems impossible in this country.

  9. sometimes our management relaxes too much and the only thing that wakes them up is strike, take for example what happened at MUT last month.

  10. Striking will never be a solution but will end up causing more damage .

  11. But the only way blacks can be heard by those in power is through stiking, that is when they now take whatever the issue is into consideration. Strikes do consume a much needed time to do important things but at the same time leave other matters attended.

  12. Strike is not a solution and will never be one.
But I understand the reason why people strike, those in charge are the ones who don't do what they are supposed to do... And yeah, I think they actually understand the language "Strike" better

  13. Violence has never solved any problem, instead it causes more problems than solutions.

  14. The only problem with University strikes is the damage of property... But let's also remember that student's strike issues are always never resolved by management.

  15. The strikes at universities gives a bad attitude to students because they are preparing themselves for the work place now when they get there the only thing they know to resolve problems will be strikes which is bad.

  16. I also believe that violence does not solve anything but as u can see that strike will never end as students issues are left unattained

  17. Avile strikes are what makes authority act and sometimes are liberation tool for education.

  18. Strikes are not there to disrespect those in power but to make our voices heard... I believe they should continue but we should minimise the damages caused.

  19. STRIKE is the only word or action understood by our top managers, when complaints are issued in writting they turn their back on them. As they continue to do that students will also continue to strike!!

  20. Striking is the only way to voice complaints to the management, and it is the only word they hear. So strikes are never going to end
